5a-androstane-3b,17b-diol for cancer
My oncologist and I want to try 5a-androstane-3b,17b-diol (3b-diol) CAS# 571-20-0 for my stage-3 prostate cancer, which is very aggressive and non-responsive to other treatments. 3b-diol may be the same as 5AA, but I am not sure. I am currently on Avodart as a 5a-Reductase inhibitor (inhibits DHT production). Unfortunately, inhibiting DHT also stops the production of 3b-diol, which has shown importance in cancer research. (this is not to be confused with 3a-diol, which is pro-growth with prostate cancer)
We have located a 3b-diol supplier, but do not know the proper dosage. We'd prefer to not go the oral route due to poor absorption and liver damage issues. Ideally, we plan to apply a cream or use DMSO via skin absorption. I'm not trying to over-do it, just maintain a natural level of this hormone, which I am no longer producing. If anyone has experience with this steroid and this type of application method, or can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks - mitch
