    Question Creatine Cycling

Just wondering if you guys cycle your creatine supplementation..i.e. 8 weeks on / 4 weeks off, etc.

I've read conflicting articles n the need to cycle and not to cycle...what do you think?

So far as I know there is no reason to cycle it.

I've heard of people doing it as a way to get a better "bang for your buck". Sort of like running on fumes for free for a couple off months and then re-loading. But I'm sure there are other reasons as well.

Personally, I don't think it's expensive at all for the results it can dish out.. And I take about 5g post workout year round. And with breakfast on resting days.

I am undecided on this, I have heard it both ways.

Same with creatine loading, I have heard good arguments on loading and not loading.

Last I heard is you should cycle it because your body needs time to start producing it again rather depending on an outside source.

Yeah, I've heard that one too I think. But your body only produces amounts in the milligram range on it's own right?

And what do you need them for if you're getting 5-10 grams a day in a supplement.

Yep, if no red meat the body I believe produces 1-2mg, but not everyone is the same (they can actually test your creatine blood levels), even to get moderate amounts from food though I believe is difficult (alot of beef to eat).

About the loading...I have heard both arguements for and against.....based on that I no longer load.

I don't think that we have much to worry about if our bodies aern't producing it since it produces sooo little to begin with.

Guess I'm just going to keep taking it...it's pretty cheap so I don't see the point to bother taking a break.
