    Creatine Question

would it be okay, if I put the creatine in a big water bottle, and sip off of it throughout the day? I figure it would kinda work like a time realease?

or would this be a waste?

what kind of effect would it have if I mixed it in a gatorade like sports drink?

NO, within 2 hours is breaks down to glycine, arginine and methionine....within 10 hours it's totally worthless

Not only that, al least 1 out of 3 people are not going to get decent results in water only, so mixing it in gatorade is a good idea, just drink it right away

I am rather small in size. IM only 5'6". I was thinking that 20g a day for a loading phase is too much for me at a time. What would you all say if I doubled the loading phase with half the dose 10g. (just to be sure im topping off peak absorbtion rather than wasting 10g a day or something like that)

    so 7-8 days @ 10g a day.

then I would cut back 2-3g a day for maintenance.

would this be a good idea?

Both Drs. Colgan and Sahelian have a table based on BW and W/O frequency with the idea that the more mass you have and the more you use it, the more creatine you need! Colgan uses LBM because he says fat doesnt use creatine. This going to be hard to type, but here goes. The first number is BW, the second is grams a day for loading for those working out 1-2 X a week, then 3-4, then 5-6. The first table is for loading (Dr. Sahelian):

    Up to 155 12 14 16
    156-175 13 15 17
    176-199 14 16 18
    200-225 15 17 19
    over 225 16 18 20

    the next table is maintenance:

    up to 155 4 6 8
    156-175 5 7 9
    176-199 6 8 10
    200-225 7 9 11
    over 225 8 10 12

Hope this posts in one piece!

Dr. Pain, where did you get your info? As I understand, creatine can be made in the body from arginine, glycine, and methionine, but it doesn't breakdown into these three aminos. Creatine breaks down into creatinine. Also, where have you read that creatine breaks down in solution in 10 hours? Can you cite the study?
