Creatine and Glutamine together?

    Arrow Creatine and Glutamine together?

    I was taking creatine but i have stopped now. I was not sure if it's ok to keep taking for longer than month.

    Now i am planning to take some Glutamine along Creatine and i was wondering if it's ok to take them both and when? Morning, post workout ... ?

    Creatine can be supplemented with indefinitely, why do you think it isn't okay to take it for longer than a month?

    Why do you want to take glutamine? There is no need to supplement with additional glutamine for healthy individuals. There are very special cases were it may be purposeful, but not for most --- you're doctor will let you know if you need it.

    Creatine can be taken whenever you'd like --- it doesn't make a tremendous difference. I usually have a protein shake each day and I typically take it with that. Five grams or so of creatine monohydrate each day is sufficient.

    IAttention!

    I cycle creating on a 3wks on 1wk off basis. I would do the same. in fact At some point I will be taking various amino's at once in my cycle!!!

    I'd recommend not cycling the creatine.

    I would not call it cycling but rather keep the body from becoming immune to creatine. It is true that your body becomes immune after a while and i have experienced that indeed.
    However after some reading i came with the following:

    1. take Glutamine if you are serious bodybuilder!
    2. take Glutamine if you can afford it!
    3. take Glutamine in combnation with Creatine and Whey protein for better result!
    4. take Glutamine along Creatine if you can afford it too!

    your body does not become immune to it. once your body reaches a point where your creatine levels are saturated, additional creatine will only maintain that. you will always see diminishing returns with whatever you take, and creatine is no exception.

    1. take glutamine if you read something that says you need to take it to be a serious bodybuilder.
    2. its worthless with a slight nod to digestion.
    3. it will not enhance creatine at all, but might aid digestion in a high protein diet (but there are cheaper more effective ways to do this).
    4. dont take glutamine.

    Yep, I don't generally take glutamine. With a good diet in store, as already said, sufficient glutamine intake is easily achieved.

    I agree with what nni and Tyler posted --- their words are basically the comprehensive defense of my statement.

    I have a possible explanation for why you felt that you have become 'immune' to it after some time:

    Your body uses the phosphates from the creatine phosphate molecules found in your supplement in order to phosphorylate ADP to ATP to be used as an energy source. Unfortunately, the unsupplemented athlete does not produce enough creatine phosphate molecules to keep up with the volume of ADPs that are piling up waiting to be phosphorylated into ATP. When you supplement with creatine monohydrate (or any form really, with CM most likely being the best choice for most) your tissues becomes saturated with creatine phosphates and you have plenty of phosphate groups floating around to phosphorylate those stockpiled ADPs. At this point, one will experience a perfomance increase; your tissues are saturated with phosphates and you'll be more readily able to deliver needed energy to your muscles. Now, some time has gone by and you have been supplementing daily with creatine. Your performance will not continue increasing --- your tissues are saturated and therefore you won't experience the same increase as you saw initially. Your body can only hold a limited amount of phosphates and after saturation, you'll be at relatively peak performance (in terms of what you can squeeze out from creatine). I think this is what you mean by becoming "immune".

    If you let some time go by with no supplemention, you may see a decrease in performance due to no longer having a saturated level of creatine phosphates. Once you begin supplementing again, you see a small jump back to optimum performance.

    Rather than having these small jumps each month between suboptimal and optimal, you can stay at relatively optimal by supplementing with creatine monohydrate everyday.

    Well i already bought it and took the first dose lol
