Creatine and water intake, need some advice

I've been on creatine for the past 6 weeks with decent results. I've read numerous threads and articles on people consuming 3-4 gallons of water daily when on that stuff. My problem is that I can't consume more than 3 liters per day. I know you need the water to stay hydrated but I tried to consume a few gallons in one day and I literally felt sick to the point where it didn't want to go down anymore and I was almost burping it out. I was also going to the washroom literally every 10-15 minutes and felt just burnt out. On the other hand when I consume only a gallon or slightly less I feel great and well hydrated. Is it really that important to consume that much water in one day? 32 bottles (0.5L each) seems extreme to me and I certainly can't make that happen without feeling sick. Anyone else have this problem? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Three to four gallons is excessive. Your normal habits (approx. 1 gallon) is sufficient.

yeah, i think 3 to 4 gallons is way "over the top". keep in mind, drinking an excessive amount of water can get your bodie's electrolytes out of balance and cause problems. i've always heard that 1 gal. is the amount to shoot for.
