    Protein Powders contain hazardous ingredients

A colleague mentioned this morning about a recent survey, results of which are published by Consumer Reports here

I was surprised to see ON-Gold Whey in the list too, breakup of which is given here

    Did anybody validate at all?

Won't stop me from having my shakes. Looking at the numbers they seem negligable really. The ones in bold are so minimally over the recommended limit that I would be more concerned of getting sick from inhaling gas fumes at a gas station than consuming those shakes. Even if you buy food these days, for example the lovely picture of salmon which they offer as a "healthier" alternative would probably test for negative compounds just like shakes. Mercury level would be even higher for most brands I would assume. In today's day and age I think everything is contaminated to some degree. Good read though.

It's a good read, but did you read it? ON-Gold Whey is on the list because that was one of the protein powders tested in the study. Looking at the results I would say ON-Gold Whey would be very safe to take, even at the ridiculous three servings a day which they pretend the average person is consuming.

3 servings a day is usually my pre-breakfast shake.

    That's because you're so huge.

Not really.... but 2x my bw is around 500 grams of protein a day. So I have to accept my fate and start consuming.

Why would you consume 2x your lean mass instead of 1 gram per pound anyways? Gear?

I'm using gear and I do 2g per lbm, but I'm also doing PSMF. The guy above thinks he's doing himself a favor by wasting his money.
