bro, just a warning dont take xanax longer than at 5 day intervals or more than 2 mg a day, you wont like the withdrawl, iam just warning you. take clonazepam if anything it has longer half live, and you can take for 2 wks without the horrible withdrawl effects of xanax. but if you dont listen, then let me know if you feel like your losing your mind.

Have to have a mind to lose it. Best thing I have had for sleep is Midazolam but it is hard to find. Clonazepam sounds good and I will check out the net to see if I can find some. I appreciate the addiction warnings and will be careful.

not being a dick weed but i have seen xanax at its best. a patient didnt tell us hes was on xanax and we found him dead in his room on the mental health floor from statis epelepticus, ie a seizure he didnt come out of , and he was on 1 mg ed for 2 months. i dont think there is ever a need to prescribe xanax, its highly abusive and all benzos should be monitored by a dr. and slowly titrated off those drugs if you have been on them more than four months. i mean slowly tapered over a yr period, to minimize the god awful withdrawl one feels. hospitals do it now because insurance kicks you out of hosp. in short time so drs are taking you off over a 3-7 day period, very dangerous. please try and ask your physcian for vistiril, atarax same thing but diff half lives and non addicting. there a anti- histamine with seditive side effects. 25mg 3xs a day is all youll need. i think benzodiazepines are very dangerous to get started on.

All I wanted was Ambien . Guess I should just find another DR. that will prescribe it. Last thing I need is to be sedated 24/7.

ambien is just as addicting and has the same withdrawls as the benzos. but the worst is the temporary loss of memory. but enough preaching. try vistaril, atarax it will knock you on your ass. but if your looking to just get a buzz before bed go with watever you want.are you looking to get sleep or buzz?you can take 25 mg of vistaril before bed and it will put you to sleep and you wont feel hungover in the morning and any right thinking dr will give it to you. just trying to save you from hell. up to you i preached enough.

No buzz, just sleep. And helping is not preaching (and again I thank you for the help).

Stay away from Xanax. This is a very addictive drug. I ended up in a rehab because of it. The withdrawal is shear hell. Like someone else has mentioned, try melatonin. This is something the body produces naturally to induce sleep. You can get it anywhere, and it works. I have been using it for about 6 years now.

Listen to unclem bro. And I can speak from expirence too. I used to take xanax. I was hooked for a few months. I took all that my doctor prescribed and then more I got from a buddy. When I ran out and had to go 3 days without it, I was a complete WRECK!! I couldn't do anything for about 3 days! Had to call off work and felt like I'd rather be dead! It was by far the worst thing Iv'e ever went through in my almost 38 years of living!! Doc gave me diazapam (generic for valium) to get off of it. I weaned of that after a few days. I also take melatonin now on days I can't sleep. They have some new stuff at drug stores now called simply sleep. Maybe give that a try too. Iv'e just learned to relax more at night.Of course it's easier said than done, but I do ok now. My brain would never shut off before. I always said I needed an on/off switch.

let me suggest something different, look at what might be causing the sleep problems.A lot of times there are underlying causes and no rx is needed. Just my two cents

SOMAREST is a great product loaded with GABA which is what you need my friend. Same tranc effects as a benzo without the addictive and habit forming qualities. Melatonin, etc. doesn't do shit for me either. Couldn't fall asleep without XANAX for a while, but this product has really helped and is a lot cheaper than spending $2.50 a pop (street price) for a 0.5mg pill!

ZMA makes me have great sleep. It's almost addictive sleep. I have a friend who prefers it to Ambien, partly because due to his job he has to wake up fast and go save ppl.

there's melatonin which you need to take early...like around 7pm so it has a while to do its thing.
ambien is safe and any doctor would be comfortable recommending it.
zoplicone is a sleeping med you can find online. You will have to search for it. I have no store preferences.
I'd be concerned wanting zanac...Isnt that one addicting and quite strong? Why not try some other safer options first? It can't hurt.
My partner couldn't sleep for years. He took everything to sleep and it never worked for long. There was a lot of stress and other things on his mind leading to the inability to rest...maybe think about what's stressing you out and deal with it. No amount of drugs will fix that problem.

I take melatonin on nights when I need to get to sleep early, and that stuff kicks my ass. About 30 - 45 minutes after taking it, I'm zonked out. That stuff gives me crazy dreams though.

This is not true. Ambien doesn't have the same withdrawals as benzos. I took Ambien for 4 years until it simply stopped working. I was then switched to Seroquel.

By the way, Seroquel is the greatest sleeping medication known to man. Plus, it doesn't get you fucked up. If you want clean pure sleep, ask a neurologist or sleep study profession for Seroquel.

    Isn't seroquel an antipsychotic drug?
