Just watched the video for my first time on youtube. I thought it brought up an interesting point about supplement companies filling their product with rice flour and calling it their proprietary blend. Does anyone know of an organization that tests various supplements to see how much of what the actual supplement is in the pill?

consumer reports does it a bit, but no one else that i know. i know the new gmp rules are much stricter with regards to basically everything.
i dont know the names of some of the specific companies but yes there are a ton of labs out there that will test products for ingrediants, purity, and potency. lab tests pop up on forums all the time.

i believe he was referring to organizations that test compounds for the consumer.

an extreme gamble. the biggest issue to me is the inclusion of compounds not listed on the label (prop blend or no). that is where the issue is the worst.
and as for prop blends, they are relatively easy to read and figure out whether you are getting proper doses or not. i dont see the big deal.

^ Yes this is what I was asking

^ Well, I looked at my ZMA supplement and it said additional incredients and listed rice flour. In the film, they used rice flour as an example of a filler substance and then they add a very small amount of the actual supplement to the pill. Anyway, I am not a fan of bigger government or regulation but it would be nice to see some supplement companies send out their own product to on objective lab for tests and then post them online....

they do that as filler to fill the caps. the film is an exaggeration of the problem obviously. you have to stick with companies that you trust. look to make sure that they are gmp. many companies test their products and post them, but until the consumer demands it, it will not be the norm. you see small to medium sized companies doing this when the consumer demands it, because they want the consumer to trust them. the big companies dont bother.
