i worked at a supplement store for a couple years and i always took home the expired supplements. as long as the powder isnt all bricked up then it should be ok.
I've got a tub of creatine that expired 01/2010. It has been stored in a cool dry place (stuffed at the back of a cupboard, hence why it's now out of date) but there were some signs that it had absorbed a bit of moisture.
Do I chuck it?
Also some arsehole on Google said that when creatine powder absorbs moisture it turns into creatinine, which it obviously does, but is there enough moisture in the air to cause this?

As cheap as monohydrate is I'd throw it out. Being a few months out is one thing, that's a over year ago. You can get a kilo of creatine online for about 17 bucks. Or ~25 bucks at local supp shops.
-I know your words, just not together.

Buy a new one. I hate to see supps go to waste, but id have to agree with the others. Its cheap and its been over a year ( loses potency if anything ).
we relabel sell again. score![]()

I think you don't need to take it because it might be expired , so you have to consult a doctor or physician for better solutions

I would probably toss it as you can replace it very cheaply. It won't kill you to use it if you want though.

Its fine, keep it and use it up. Supplements will stay good long after the ex date
I do remember reading a while back about creatine being left in water turning into creatinine. It was the whole Kre-alkalyn creatine sales pitch though. Kre-alkalyn was supposedly stable in any liquid and regular creatine was not. Later studies showed regular creatine to be as stable as Kre-alkalyn or more in water.
Another hyped creatine was CEE wich showed in studies to be Inferior to regular creatine. There are some really good, different forms of creatine, but after years of using all kinds of creatine, I find that Creatine Monohydrate works just as well or better than almost all of the new versions that are coming out. Its the most used and most studied form of Creatine and its still around and used by many for obvious reasons - It works and its proven. Plus its a fraction of the cost compared to the new gadget like creatines.
Creapure creatine is your safest bet.
