aminos, without a doubt.. You can get all your protein from food!!! I dont drink protein shakes. I eat whole protein in my meats. I dont eat red meat, so I supplement with small ammounts of creatine...

most protein supplements cover a wide range of amino acids and give good amounts of the important ones. this questions i kinda confusing... amino acids are the building blocks of protein... a little more info on your question. if you mean would i rather just drink a protein shake or go and buy aminos separate like glutamine, taurine, ect......then i would def just go and drink a good quality protein shake.

if you had to choose, Hmmmm some of the post workout proteins are isoolates with glutamine ande BCAAs and other stuff in it, you could get the best of al workds taking that ..... but if you ahve to choose one, a whey, and casein protein, helps with long term nitrogen retention, one that has bcaas in it and glutamine and drink a few thru the day

I started taking dymatize protein drink and worked my way up to the bcaas and other stuff after a while as I could afford it i am sure there are other proteins sold by spoknsors here that are worth giving a try but I pick up dymatize cuz it is local at my nutrition store

(taken from Ultimate Hypertrophy training )

No matter how sophisticated a training program you follow, if you do not supply your body with adequate nutrition your muscle building efforts in the gym will be in vain. As discussed in the previous sections your bodies response to exercise is partially controlled by the nutrients that are available to it. The mTOR pathway that controls whether or not muscle growth is signaled for following a training stimulus is predominantly an energy and nutrient sensing pathway! The training is merely the switch that sets the process in motion

In the presence of adequate energy resources, the mTOR pathway will “check” for the availability of amino acids, in particular leucine, within the cell. It can then be activated IF there are sufficient amino acid resources outside the cell ( glutamine is a limiting factor) AND if the cell is adequately hydrated AND if plasma insulin levels are sufficient.

If any of these factors are lacking your body will stop signalling for new muscle growth and the training session will have been wasted.

in other literature I read, it goes into the satellite cells and how they donate, etc.....

Basically, you need to be nitrogen positive, but you also need to have the aminos listed above for when the body calls for it....

Start with a quality protein shake and when you get more money, stack it with aminos!
