    They are called prohormones because they are not steroids. End of story.

    Semantics..some are going to classify them as steroids by definition and others aren't. Technically, aside from 1-test and 4-ad, I don't call them steroids, however, it must be remembered that on a drug test they WILL show up as such. They create much of the same metabolites.
