Creatine and Whey works in different way..

Personally on Cut I don't use creatine for limit any type of water retention.
On the oher side protein are fundamental in both process.

PS: first gain then cut or cut and then gain, without drugs it's hard achieve both at the same time.

I agree trying to do both at the same time is a pain I tried when i first got in to lifting if your body fat is high cut first other wise you will loose alot of the muscle you gained when you decide to cut. diet is the key to go with this

I recommend protein and on a side note get yourself some Pre-workout supplements. I use Dark Energy by Sci-Fit. Made a big difference on my performance and attitude in the gym

Water retention can be controlled through a diet.

Creatine is a great supplement to use with protein as well as a fast-acting carbs

I know and I use creatine for many of my training, everytime I need to boost my atp-cp process..

I wrote "personally" because unfortunately "I'm prone" to water retention and diet alone don't do the trick for me. I need to avoid creatine on cut.

Personally I like to throw a teaspoon of creatine into my post workout shake to help with recovery and endurance. In terms of cutting, it makes sense to keep this up as you should be lifting heavy and low reps while cutting which is going to stress your system. My cutting cycles always end with coming off the creatine for two weeks right at the end and upping my cardio ever so slightly to finish off.

Oh, and I *always" take protein, especially pre-workout. Hope this helps.

Both. Protein powder is really more like a food than a supplement.

Creatine has some great research backing it.

protein is essential, creatine is optionally but effective. Build the lean muscle, then shred it to get a better cut

Don't take creatine until you've maxed your muscle's ability to grow. Then load creatine and then trim back. If you are trying to cut weight don't load up on creatine. Back in my day I would cut with heavy workouts and smoking herb so i didnt feel the pain but that was college and illegal.
    Whey... Bleh. Don't bother.

I find this advice really odd. You don't need to max out in order to use creatine and while its helpful on a cut there is no reason not to use it in the bulking phase, too. And furthermore, the loading phase is unnecessary as research has shown. Only reason to not use it on a cut is toward the end when you want to dry out, IMO.

    I use both.

    Creatine is great, of course.

I choose Soy Protein over Whey. Haven't been responding well to Whey, seems to affect my kidney function (I get back pumps)
