its really surprising how many people who dont lift think creatine is a steroid of some kind. I get asked all the time "do you take creatine" and when i say yes, they are all like "dont you know steroids are bad for you"

When someone asks that question about steroids being bad for you ask them to explain exactly how they are bad for you and what they do that is so "bad". They will probably say something really stupid like "steroids cuase brain tumors", or something ignorant like that. At least if I tell someone that smoking cigs or drinking excessive alcohol is bad for you I can also explain exactly how and why they are bad, the damager they cause, etc. I can also look up the number of deaths per year that are directly related to tobacco and alcohol. Do you even know of anyone that has died from steroids, I don't.

when it comes to science in this sport you can't always judge a book by it's cover.

    * many many bodybuilders don't know as much as you think about nutrition and supplementation, they get a lot of there info from their trainers.

    * but then there are people like Lyle McDonald who are totally into the science but no so much into participating in the sport.
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

Very true. There is a guy at my gym that is doing a show, why I don't really know, and has no idea about contest prep. Heck, I know EXTREMELY small amounts from reading logs and talking to friends, in his eyes I am some expert. When I have to explain the basics of a carb up to a guy doing a show, something is entirely wrong with that. And who lifts heavy and low reps a few days out of a show? Good guy mind you, just totally clueless. You are quite right in your assumption LAM.
