    Fish Oil vs. Flax Oil

While I like flax, I have always mentioned that as we age, fish oil becomes more assimilable......short course...it actually has to do with the break down or conversion of fatty acid chains with enzymes like 5 and 6 alpha desaturase...etc

You see the ALA (alpha linolenic acid) aka LNA converts to EPA and DHA ....this can occur from both fish and or flax oil (and hemp oil) which re high in LNA (Omega 3 EFA).

But with Erasmus saying all fish oil is rancid, and Mercola saying all fish oils but the one he endorses are contaminated (as are all/most fish) with mercury........what's a person to do?

If I'm taking 4 fish oil caps daily and getting enough dietary fat should I still be using flax?

Mercola recommends 1 tsp of fish oil per 50lbs of BW per day. 1 tsp = approx. 5 caps. (I think, lol)

Some of that "enough dietary fat" should be substituted for flax oil. When you post your meals, we will fix this!

I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

No, nothing special as compared to other 'high grade" oils.....could be used interchangebly w/Udo's, or Omega's Essential Balance.

Deal is, I have to listen to all these companies reps and training, each insisting their's is the best and why: Barlean's, Spectrum, Udo's........Udo's rep will go off on the glass bottling, thr miniscule amout of MCT and Phyto-sterol complex ect....Barlean's pressses your order and then ships etc....

Omega Nutrition presses for about 10-12 different companies....good chance they make Lemmon's, lol....they are "no hype"...just quality. I stock and sell mostly Jarrow Formula's Labeling of Omega Nutrition, you and I get better pricing and freshness....they pay attention to keeping the products "cool" and even ship w/ice in the summer.

ALL of these companies have Udo Erasmus to thanks for the quality and process by which they make their oils!

Fish oils can alter the cell membrane of the brain and help increase leptin sensitivity, with doses of 6-12g (6-12 caps) a day for a few months (think it was 3 or so in rats so that's like ~9 months in humans).

    Something like that anyway.
