Looking for insight on very weird side effect from possibly Creatine?

I've been taking creatine, with the exception of a month break here and there, for nearly a year and a half straight now. For the past few months I've been getting very weird episodes which I am now suspecting are linked to creatine use.

Every week I will have a few days in which at certain points during the day, for no reason at all or not associated with any unusual activity, I will get this pressure and dizzy feeling in my head and sometimes I'll feel like I'm going to pass out. Often this feeling makes me aware of my heart beat and it's almost as if it's some sort of short lived panic or anxiety attack which I have no history of.

At first I was not suspecting creatine but I talked to one guy at work who lifts weights and he said he had the exact same thing happen to him when he started on creatine, both times on separate occasions when he started using creatine, and he told me he'll never use it again for that reason. So now I'm beginning to wonder. Could long term creatine use cause such side effect? Has anyone else experience anything like this from creatine? I really don't feel like discontinuing use right now since I'm lifting heavy over the next 3 months. Thoughts?

maybe it is not creatine ... but in general be aware that creatine causes water retention, kidney overload, which can cause increase in blood pressure, maybe what you are feeling is a sudden increase in blood pressure....maybe you are sensitive to creatine...i would not recommend creatine supplementation due to possible long term side effects...
(yet when i say this i get so much shit on this forum and people reply with tons of articles and my reply is that articles don't mean anything since they are written for a specific purpose and for a specific case and under specific conditions, and you can always dig out counter- articles)

medicine is not an exact science, when you say for example aspirine causes rye syndrome then you do a research you may find out that none of the patients involved in your research got rye syndrome from aspirine, however, this does not mean that aspirine does not cause rye syndrome. the mechanism of absorption and effect of a medicine on the human body is sometimes analyzed and studied using science and logic..then the experimentation comes to see how much this effect is potent and probable, this does not mean that there are no effects.

conclusion: to me, my logic states that creatine can cause in the long term some nasty side effects, no need to read any article for that.

Regardless of what kind of supplement you're taking. If you're experiencing unexpected negative side effects, that you suspect are from the supplement then discontinue use immediately. Hopefully, it is the creatine and not some other health problem. Obviously if symtoms persist after discontinuing, you should see a doctor.

Is this pure creatine? Like creatine monohydrate or a mixed formula?

I've had something similar but it was a rarity, like happened for a couple days but never came back. I decided that it could be due to a lower amount of water intake than I needed due to creatine use and it hasn't happened since. So, are you drinking enough water? If you are then I would recommend getting off the supp because it may not be something simple like my situation was...

Differes from one to another, I've used it for 11 plus years off and on but more on the off lol. I agree with the rest though if you suspect it could be the problem stop taking it.
