It was released off the FDA'a schedule III list in Dec/95 after 10 years on the list, Pregnenolone followed in January...clearing the way for all of the Prohormones you see today! Unfortunately, these and progesterone which is also available OTC...are under the gun right now.Originally posted by cornfed
Just thought I'd mention that I've found phar grade DHEA in a legal supp. I thought only the herbal sterol was permetted as a supp, but I found some today in my local grocer's supp isle.
25mg pharmaceutical DHEA/cap
Oh, well... can't hurt
? is... 25 or 50mg/day?![]()
With DHEA you lose 80% to first pass digestion, and it has a half-life of like 20 minutes...so only a very minute amount converts into androstendione and eventually Test. The industry self regulated as there use ot be 100 mg products out there, Prolab just phaesd their 50 mg, now mst is 5, 10 and 25 mg's, it's all USP. Also , there have been studies using up to 1600 mgs a day under medical supervision.
You'll will most likely notice "nothing" at 25 to 50 mgs a day. Older men, as DHEA endogenous product starts to slide at 30-35 (still 1 in 10 , 50 year olds are normal to high, you must be tested to know) will experience a slightly better sense of well being, and possibly an improvement in libido after several weeks and feedback loops with in the body
Downside for pre-menopausal women......reacts far more effectively in their bodies...causing facial hair...and an irreversible depening of the voice at dosages as low as 25mg/day (Hirtuism)
