For those who have tried weightgainers..

What brand did you use? What other supps were you taking with it? Most weightgainers have about 55 to 60 grams of protein per serving. Do you use another protein shake with it for extra protein? What kind of results did you see? Thanks!

I take Prolab Large N2 and Muscle Milk. Each shake has two scoops of each and I take 4 shakes throughout the day from early morning 5:00 am to about 9:00 pm in the evening and have had good results. I seem to put on more mass than fat this way..I should add that I'm also taking 1-Ad by ergopharm and Biotests 4ad-ec.. and I take creatine pre and post workout. Thats it and alot of chicken and rice dishes in between..

The last weight gainer I looked at, was 1800 calories in carbs and 30g protein, talk about a crock of BS. Grab a 50 pound back of rice and just snack off that, or maybe a half gallon of ice cream, either method are sure ways of stacking on those rolls of fat but the ice cream would taste the best.

The one I looked at was 200g carbs, making it 800 calories in carbs, not 1800.

I can't use weight gainers. It is to much for me. Look at that 960 cals in one serving. How much of that ends up in the toilet?

6000-7000 calories a day is way beyond what I need, likewise. Plus my regular food, 11000 calories or more, yeah I'd gain weight all right.

I doubt the average man can take the serving all at once. I'd split it in half. I've heard good results from Prolab N-Large 2. Some of you have unrealistic expectations for supps. They aren't all going to put 100% lean weight on you. Try steroids and maybe you'll be satisfied with the gains.

I dont see a reason to use weight gainer, unless I were very skinny and had problems putting on any kind of weight, then I'd probably look into it. I am between 3000-3500 calories a day and have no problems eating that at all, I can easily at more but obviously it wont all end up quality weight.

Carbs wont put any kind of lean weight on you, period, its not for building muscle. Carbs/fats are used to help balance caloric intake but they have nothing much to do with muscle, since muscle is a protein its made with protein.

Remember that meals should be balanced, so if anyone was actually using anything like this in the per serving suggestion, I'd expect that they were on 6000+ calories a day diets.

What are your stats that your considering weight gainer? I'm 6'2" 240 and would have no problem eating more at this point.

I'm not 6' 2" 240( that's big) so I'm not going to be able to eat as much obviously. I'm 5' 10" 196 pds. Weightgainer is supposed to be more anabolic than regular whey protein. I've already ordered some, so I'm going to try it out. If it works it works, if not, at least I know for sure. I'm not a hard gainer, I just can't afford to eat all the foods I'd like to eat. Weightgainer will give me an extra boost I hope.

I spend $20-$40 a week on all my protein, maybe your shopping in the wrong places. Yes you do need something to go with your protein, if thats what you mean by "more anabolic than regular whey."

Don't get me wrong I look at the protein value of everything I eat. I don't just eat junk. I'm going to see what the hype about N-Large 2 is. If it's a waste of money, then I won't buy anymore. All I want is to hear opinions of others who have tried any weightgainers. When I start it I'll let you know what I think.
