    weight loss supplements

hello everyone. im new here and i just started lifting weights. my reason for starting to do this is to loose weight and at the same time gain more muscle mass. due to my work schedule i can only work out 3 times a week. so im trying to make the most of my workouts. has anyone out there tried HYDROXYCUT? how effective are these weight lose supplements? i know nothing beats cardio work but do these supplements have any real effect?

i dont plan on taking any other supplement such as whey or creatin or the like but im thinking of taking these weight lose supplements if they're any good.

thanks in advance to anyone who can give their comments.

welcome to IM, dont let this four letter word scare ya but diet is the key weight loss, what does your day consist of for food intake and the times you eat?? also post your work out as well.

I think if you are just starting out you should not be so quick to jump on the supplement, escpecially fat burning supplement, bandwagon. Get your diet cleaned up and put together a solid training program and that will help get you on your way. Like Tank said, it is all about what you eat. Also instead of buying the hydroxy cut you may want to think about purchasing some whey protein first.

The only thing that beats cardio work is weightlifting. Nothing like gaining some lean body mass to help your body burn some extra calories. (Also the idea of someone taking fat burning supps and doing cardio scares me.)

    good luck...and welcome

I agree with P-Funk. Diet is the key. If you drink any pop, kill that right away. I bet that will drop some mass. Along with that just think smart when you eat. I know there are TONS of health links and posts on IM. It's a great place to find info.

I can vouch (is that the right word?? ) for diet and exercise being the key. That is how I lost my 88lbs. It is right way...the only way.

    Oh yea, WELCOME!!!

    For fat loss...

    -diet = 45%
-training (weights and cardio) = 45%
    -supplementation = 10% (if that)

So, supplements like Hydroxcut do work in conjunction with diet and training, but they are not miracle workers, just icing on the cake.
