    Creatine w/sugar?

I've heard of course about the required - or at least desired - "insulin spike" to help with the absorbtion of creatine. I've used creatine before, but normally I'd take it with 2 8-ounce glasses of warm water and that's it. It never seemed to do too much for me, but I never took it within anything that would spike my insulin really.

My friend, who is very much into body building, takes his with one or two 8-ounce glasses of warm water, mixed with a single tablespoon of regular sugar. He seems to think it helps, heh.

Point is - does this help at all? I'd don't want go knocking back a high-calorie/sugary grape juice every time I take a dose, which is what some people seem to do... I can spend those calories elsewhere on something better!

So does adding a tablespoon of sugar to the liquid help at all? Would two tablespoons be better?

    cheers.

In the morning taking it with table sugar I believe is not so bad and does help with absorption. Any other time of the day I would take it with some dextrose, Gatorade, grape juice, or just water alone that taking it with table sugar.
