It depends on what else you are eating, what kind of creatine and what you are taking it with, how much red meat you eat, the total training program, how much cardio, whether you are talking only LBM and how it is measured, and/or strength gains too![]()
None.
Not even a quarter inch.
Been getting about 140 grams of protein a day [lean body weight] and have been getting enough carbs and EFAs as well.
140g protein
10g creatine
10g l-glutamine
Lifts: 5x3 , as heavy as i can lift.
no gains anywhere. [unless you count fat]
Too soon to be judging the effectiveness?

most people experience water weight gain and strength the first week, so I would first question the brand you're using, and second it's possible that you just do not respond well to creatine.

I stay away from junkfood [no sodas, maybe some chips or a cookie once in a while]. It's max muscle creatine monohydrate. red meat - not much. twice a week maybe? No cardio. Strength has increased a bit.
Yeah cus I have gained in my first week. I was 216 now im like 221.
A loading protocol would have helped, dispite some opinions here...and I do mean it depends what and how much you are eating, how much P/C/F, in how many meals and at what times?Originally posted by NickB

NickB, just taking creatine doesn't ensure gains..it allows you to contract harder, stressing your body more (bigger lifts)..it's that stress that causes your body to Adapt...it literaly says, 'Hey, we've got to get BIGGER, STRONGER, or he's gonna kick our ass again!"
Your strength gains are a good sign![]()
I was not a creatine believer at all. The first time I used it I got no results. I must have been taking it wrong because I have been using it for about five weeks (no loading phase) and I noticed strength changes almost immediately (average of 15% gains) and my body fat has dropped a couple of points, without increasing cardio. I have not actually measured myself, but I look fuller. However, I have not gained any weight.
Because I'm not on an Atkins Diet nor would I ever do one. I'm a BB not a dieter!- Jodi
nickb, you probably wont gain much from creatine in the first week if you dont load. either wait a month or two or laod, and then gauge effectiveness.
back for the first time....

Dude, a quarter inch on any body part per week is ASTOUNDING for anyone natural, dont expect to see stuff like that unless you are a freak or work your ass off. I've done it, and it wasn't pretty.
As for creatine, it takes time to build up a store in the body. Dont expect much from one week of ANYTHING, except blood loss if your stabbing yourself with a pencil.
Plus, your powerlifting it looks like, not bodybuilding.
