Question Guggulsterone and thyroid

BODYBUILDING SUPPLEMENTS
High Quality Supplements For Bodybuilders and Athletes. www.ironmaglabs.com
I bought a new ECA called Thermo-X by Euromedics. The last active ingedient is guggulsterone (sp?). I remember reading about it affecting the thyriod. Now that would not be a good thing for me since my thyroid is already a bit low in production. I believe guggulsterone raises the production and when I stop taking it my production will be slow.. Since there's only a little of it I don't think I should be worried, but I kinda don't know..

Will it mess my thyoid up??

Guggulsterones have been shown in studies to drastically reduce cholesterol levels, improve acne conditions, and increase thyroid hormone levels (thus greatly increasing fat loss).
The guggul tree comes from areas in Pakistan, Afghanistan and India. Since this is a plant sterol, I don't think it will effect natural thyroid levels.

Thank you dg.
Isn't it true though, that if you stimulate the hormone production of the thyroid, it will halt the production when you stop stimulating it?

I really don't think a natural plant sterol will affect it much.........I may be wrong though!

Well, I'm not diagnosed for having an abnormal thyroid, it's just in the lower range of the normal scale. I have a pretty low production of thyroid hormones, but not lower than what's considered normal..

No, that is not true, generally speaking.

I'd say you should ask your doctor, but few doctors understand the first thing about about supplements like these and would just say, stay away.

Hmm.. the Dr would def tell me not to take it.. But I'm not too worried, since it's the last ingredient and not a pure guggulsterone product.. I'll continue taking it!
