i was thinking about taking supplements after my workout at the gym.. they offer everything.. i mainly insterested in try the whey protein.. heard a lot of good about it.. well i have never took supplements before and was wondering.. how do i do this.. .
1. do i take it after working out or before?
2. which ones do i take?
3. can i take two at once.. is that better or worse.. like creatine and whey protein together back to back
The most important time to use whey is 30 minutes after a work-out, whey is a high bv protein that absorbs quickly. This time after a work-out is referred to the "anabolic window" and anyone that trains should take advantage of it.
I recommend at least the amount of protein that you normally consume in one meal. So, if you're eating 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight currently (recommended amount) spread out over 6 meals, if you're 200lbs that is around 34 grams per meal. So, your whey protein post work-out should be around 34-40 grams.
well i am thinking about buying the big whey protein they sell at my gym....should i just get that or should i also get creatine and/or glutamine.. i am not a hardcore bodybuilder.. i am just a 16 year old that really loves to work out and waants to gain lean body mass..i am 165 lbs and 5'11''
