    whey protein

    i have a huge container of GNC whey protein with 20 grams of protein per scoop. i was wondering when should i take it during the day? morning, after i workout, nighttime? im also confused on how many scoops and how many times a day i should take this stuff.

    Best time to take it is right after training with some simple carbs, other times of the day you would take it with meals to make sure you are getting enough protein. If you are getting enough with your diet than only take it after training but I find that it really helps me reach my daily total.

    I agree, I add whey to my breakfast for additional protein, and I have a whey protein shake post work-out.

    When I am bulking I also have a whey protein shake before bed, but you need to add some fat, either natural peanut butter or whipping cream.

    oh, as far as total amount of protein, 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight spread out over 5-6 meals (minimum).

    so, if you weighed 200lbs you would want to consume at least 200grams of protein per day and that would equate to about 33-34 grams per meal at 6 meals.
