too much glutamine is a waste bro, your body can only absorb so much and I happen to think that 5 grms at a time is too much even. Too much at one time will give you the runs and you don't want that. More glutamine isn't going to pack on the mass at all, there are more important details to worry about. I would stick with 2 or 3 at a time

It depends on how hard you are training. I take 15-20 grms. per day. When I am run down and feel like I am getting a cold I will take 60grms. per day for 2-3 days until I feel better. Glutamine is a fantastic supplement.

Another glutamine thread...hmmmm, could be dangerous for me to patricipate! Oh well...sure you can take more than 5 g per day, or even 5 g at a time! A nice schedule is 5 g before breakfast, and 5 more before and after training. You can throw in 5 more before bed too if you wish. But if you aren't training hard, the glutamine won't do as much for you as you'd like.

You can throw in 5 more before bed too if you wish.
Actually, the most well substantiated benefit of glutamine is a large (several hundred per cent) boost in Growth Hormone, and thus before bed is the most important time to take glutamine. (This is substantiated by a well known clinical study on human subjects - the dose was only 2 grams, by the way.) This should benefit your overall health, as well as potentially increasing any lean body mass gains that occur overnight.
