Getting the flu shot will not prevent you from getting the flu. The flu shot is designed to combat a select few strains. In many cases the flu shot actully gives flu like symptoms, and possible side effects that are much more dangerous then letting your imune system do as it was designed.

I passed on the flu shot this year after hearing that they did not predict the correct strings this year, and the shot is only around 30-50% effective.

The flu shot is bogus! The flu strand mutates every year and often, in the middle of the year. The flu shot is put together based on information the CDC has on the previous years flu strand, not the current year. It is marketing hype for Drug reps. You don't need to get it.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

I'll gladly take the free flu shot from work if there is a chance of it keeping me from getting sick. Why not get a shot? Most people in this forum stuff themselves with all sorts of different sports supplements, so you should be used to taking chemicals. ![]() |

Studies have shown that with the mutation of strains, it is very unlikely that a given flu shot even have an opportunity to work against a given strain.
Studies have shown that the shot is only 35% effective at preventing an occurance when the flu encountered is a match for the shot given. The shot is %100 ineffective without a perfect match. The Associated Press found in a study that only %30 of doctors and nurses polled received the flu vaccine. The lowest population group, and yet the most informed. To make the vaccine, many toxins are used such as formaldehyde, and mercury deriviatives. Many adverse reactions have occured after the vaccine was given. Now to the point: If you are taking a substance that depresses your immune system, it seems unwise to take a live virus into your system. The nature of the shot dictates minor symptoms in a healthy individual. If your body is not able to mount a normal defense, it seems more likely that you will get serious flu symptoms. Do what you like, but I would suggest you do research, and don't just swallow what the medical field says as fact. Rock was right, the drug companies wield alot of power today, and your health is not the number one priority. I wish you luck Jay |

I got the flu shot this year and let me tell ya......I'M SICK. Not nearly as bad as the people I know. My hubby has the flu, Brianna has strep and bron...Kiley has Ear infection and bron.... and I've managed to keep the sniffles. I have a virus which makes me tired and EXTREME head and neck pain. I'm on some pretty good drugs though. whew...thank goodness...Maybe the flu shot is helping me stay sane..........

No, really, think about it. Until recently (at least locally) doctors have written prescriptions for antibiotics for every minor ailment and/or infection, folks have received the flu vaccine for years, regrdless of whether or not it could combat the current strain mutations out there, we take medications to desensitize our allergic reactions to every form of pollen, dust, spores, etc.
Pretty soon we'll have no immune system(s) left! ![]()

that or drug over dose since the doctors write prescriptions like there is no tomorrow. Our bodies will be immune to them eventually. Most doctors are starting NOT to hand out prescriptions, rather forcing our bodies to fight off bacterial virus's naturally so we don't get mune to drugs....
