Question slow release proteins? while you sleep?

The new improved Myoplex powders claim to have both slow and quick release proteins. Is this possible? Also I have been using one of the nocturnal protein powders that supposedly releases through the night while you sleep.

What do you think? Is this bunk?

Re: slow release proteins? while you sleep?

Nothing special about it. They just included some milk protein fractions!
BTW, save your money, mic your plain'O'Whey Protein Concentrate in your milk before going to bed. It'll work just as same.
If you do want some quality protein blend, then move over EAS and go for Beverly Ultra Size or Dorian Yates Approved ProPeptide. In quality they're light years ahead of EAS.

Try mixing in some splenda and cinnamon and a splash of vanilla extract. It tastes like a dessert.

Thats the way I felt about cottage cheese. But then I tried the shamrock farms cottage cheese with strawberry and bannanas. The one that has no sugar added, it has splenda instead. Taste pretty good.

You can buy a milk or milk and egg mix at one of the custom sites for much less than most off the shelf stuff.

Pre-Bedtime, I personally like mixing 45 grams of Whey Protein Concentrate (Unflavored) in 1 Liter of Vanilla Custard Milk.
Tastes Awesome. Plus you get more than 60 grams of time released protein!

I agree very much with Jodi - low fat cottage cheese is one of my staples. Take a cup before bed and at about the time the GH hormone cycles starts (2 hours into sleep) that slow absorption protein/amino profile is just waiting to be used to grow new muscle and keep you in a positive nitrogen synthesis. I also take some cottage cheese right after a workout in conjunciton with the fast proteins (whey) to keep the protein delivery elevated for a few hours past when the whey is spent or cycled out. Since the body does not circulate aminos's very long (2-3 hrs) and does not store them you need to keep the protein trickle charging your muscles to safegurad against catabolism an protein breakdown.

I also whole heartedly agree that Beverly's proteins are first rate but they can be costly for some.

I don't like eating heavy ammounts of cottage cheese because of such high sodium content, I wish so much that they had that special kind with hardly no sodium. What's it called again?

Oceandude, hey. I haven't seen you around for a loooooooong time, where ya been?

Actually, if you look at the price, Micellean MRP is cheaper gram for gram in protein than cottage cheese, plus it includes other goodies.

I'm sure its priced differently around the country but I always get it really really cheap at Sam's club and it works out to be about only 35 cents per cup for me.
