Hah!
And what about Avant? Again, I'm disappointed. I shall cry like a man cries---alone

When you're starting off, keep it simple. I agree with most of the recommendations. I do like Optimum as an inexpensive source of protein. Allthewhey is good, too.
It's best to purchase either a protein blend such as Isomatrix, or to use whey protein, alone--post workout, and to mix your whey in whatever it is you like.
So long as you're consuming some source of protein every several hours, then contrary to what's often said, whey is fine. Before you hit the sack, then it is better to have either a blended protein source, or a whole food source such as cottage cheese.
A basic multi-vitamin/mineral will do, along with some extra C and E (post workout). Fish oils are good as well as part of dieting regimen. Several capsules can be taken with each meal.
Other than protein (for convenience), EFA's and vitamins/minerals, anything else is your call. Creatine-----alone, or as part of a product formulation---is dandy, as is some type of ephedrine/caffeine stack.
