Protein Bar hidden cals?
Recently i bought a box of protein bars. nitro-tech protein bars. they come in at this
:290 cals :35g Protein :6g Fat :5g carbs they all add up to only 214 cals. i wonder where the rest comes from... i read recently that there's plenty of glycerine in them. i wonder how will the protein bars help me, in terms of it's nutrition value, and how should i go about using them. because it says only 5g of impact carbs. im pretty worried about using it... |

Probably sugar alcohols/sweetners like honey that they dont count because its not 'sugar' however labeling laws have required that for about a year now(?)

The balance is usually from "non-impact" carbs which are those described by Mudge above. So just count them as carbs.
Of course, this assumes the bar is meeting label claims. |
