Some topical fat loss products do in fact work to an extent. Several good ones are Avants Lipoderm Y and Ultra, as well as their Absolved product.

I also had decent results with Ergos Skulpt.

Rememeber this though...unless you are already quite low in bodyfat and have pretty much dieted and cardioed (new word I invented) almost every drop off, than topical fat loss products will have no real measurable effect.

Side note. The best topical fat loss product I ever use was put out by SAN and was called Lipoburn, but this has since been taken off the market by our lovely U.S. gov't.

as far as i can tell(for abs) absolved is better than lipoderm(y or ultra) is equal to skulpt is MUCH BETTETR than cutting or ripping gel(wich are just local diruetics)....

Just 2 weeks from now Im gonna do a little experiment/report with pre/post pics and such on how absolved works for me.(waiting till christmas is over, cause while I still keep a strong diet, you gotta cheat alil on the holidays)

Ab-Solved is meant to address the specific concern of visceral adipose tissue (VAT).

LipoDerm-Y and especially LipoDerm Ultra, are better suited for the concern of subcutaneous adipose tissue stores.

Cut and pasted from another post of mine [simply put, you are right, at first------diet, with dedication and consistency. But once you are lean, that's a different story for reasons that follow]:

Quote:
Actually, no, it is not just a matter of getting lean; it is where you are leaning out.

Certainly, too few people are willing to put the time, dedication and effort into a plan of action. LU shouldn't be used unless you're already lean, or unless you've dieted before, and know well ahead of time what your problematic areas are.

However, even in those who are capable of being lean (ecto and mesomorphs) with relative ease, certain gender-specific target regions may be less willing to give. Typically, in woman, this will be the hips/thighs/butt; in men, often the abs, and occasionally the chest---in terms of truly stubborn regions.

I tend to store fat much like a woman does--around the hips. Odd, I know. So even when I am very lean (sub 10%), I am ripped everywhere, but there. And if I diet down further, I may lose fat, still, but not so much in that area; in the process of trying to bring down one area, you may end up sacrificing too much muscle, or the overall functioning of your metabolism.

So---diet first, then see what stubborn areas remain. However, don't assume that fat is lost equally in all regions, in all people, for if that were generally true, we would never be able to speak of gender specific patterns of adipose tissue deposition.
Quote:
However, if a person is disproportionately lean, and their diet and exercise regimen checks out (i.e. they aren't doing anything retarded), then that area isn't so gray at all.

And chances are, even without exercising, if you're disproportionately lean (or rather, fat), those same tendencies will prevail, even when you diet down.

That again, is why a person should be relatively lean to begin with---after dieting down---before they use LipoDerm-Y or LipoDerm Ultra.

If you're just fat in general, and wish to purchase this product:

Honestly, we appreciate the interest, and the money. But honestly, as well, you're probably just a lazy bastard.
http://www.ironmagazineforums.com/sh...626#post485626

And as was it stated, Cutting Gel and Ripping Gel---they are the same product, from sister companies---are nothing more than local diuretics. That is, Preparation-H would be better if local water retention is an issue that you'd like to crush.

So between the two camps:

Those who wish to lose fat, with a "topical fat burner," but are too lazy to put the effort into dieting, and those who say, "All of them are worthless," I see little logic, and general laziness; the former in a physical sense, the latter in a mental aspect).

If anyone has any questions along these lines, I will certainly address them, as there are far too many misconceptions---for and against these products---that I'd like to disabuse everyone of.

Take care.

I had nice success with both Absolved and Lipoderm Y. Absolved took actual "size" off of my waistline and Lipoderm brought out a bit more definition in "stubborn" areas. The effects remained months after discontinuance of both products. I plan to use Lipoderm Ultra beginning about 4 weeks out from my next competition. I do find that these types of products add a nice "finishing touch" to a highly ripped physique, especially in the low back and low abdominal region.

I would say just focus more on Diet and maybe some cardio 3-4 times a week... you can lose alot more fat before you move on to cutting gels...

Are you kidding me????

Both Lipo ultra and Absolved are inexpensive... wouldn't hurt to try either of them... I would be interested to see what kind of results you get as well

Better to add in a thermogenic fat burner like Liquid Clenbutrx to speed the fat burning process, rather than use a topical product.

Opinions;

One of my friends tried cutting gels when he got on the gym scene. Basically went out and spent a ton of ca$h to buy the products that bring out "efficient and amazing" results. Basically, in the end, it didn't do squat for him. He was always using them, followed the directions down to the point, and never saw any results. After wising up, he focused on maitaining an more veggie diet (kinda like what one of the earlier posters stated) and saw much faster results the natural way.

But now he's bulking and that's all behind him. If anything, I would never give the gels a go. I have better things to spend my hard earned cash on.

Overgeneralizations are rather dangerous. Critical thinking is more important. Rather than buy into hype, or marketing claims, why not examine the active ingredient. Quick review of the actives in this product (as opposed to Lipoderm, Ab-Solved, etc.) will show you that there are no lipolytic substances, but rather mild diuretics.

yeah but unfortunately most people think this way, they never look into anything, they get lured in by a company selling junk in a bottle and make it harder for companies selling real products
