Bedtime - Whey and milk
I'm currently in my bulking stage so i'm trying to gain lbm, however I only have whey protein and not caesin for night, so is it ok if I take my whey with milk and add some glutamine into that as a bedtime shake?
If I can add milk to my whey, will it slow down the digesting and what kind of milk should I use (1% skimmed, 2% skimmed, etc)? Thanks in advance! |

Not enough. Fats (flax, etc) would be better to slow digestion.
Better yet, eat some cottage cheese, whole eggs, steak, or take a casien based protein powder. |

Oh and just to clarify, do you put the cottage cheese and peanut butter in a blender with your protein shake, or seperate? If I add these two, is it still ok to down my shake with milk (its amazing, I love it so much more than water).

i sometimes add a whey shake and some bran flakes, depends on when i last ate, how big my dinner was etc... as to how much i will have i used to go for all 3 of them even if i'd only had my dinner an hour earlier and my fat has gone up, i don't know if over eating before bed is to blame or not but i can't thing of anything else to blame so i'm cutting back a bit try cottage cheese, if not add oil to your shake! i add walnut to mine peace |

Alaric you can use milk if you so desire, the best choice would be whole milk due to it's higher fat content which will slow the absorption rate of the whey protein.
