I believe you only need to take creatine once a day postworkout, unless you're loading. Why not just take one type of creatine? I think GNC is wayyyy overpriced...
check out http://www.1fast400.com and compare their prices with GNC's. |

GNC prices are not that far off from web prices if you take advantage of their 20% off (first week of every month) plus every other week sales.

Normally I'd agree that GNC prices can be beat but every so often they have their sale on their brand of Creatine Monohydrate. Buy one and get one FREE. It is a full years supply and you end up paying something like $30.00. How can you beat that? But the problem is... that sale is like once a year so it isn't very convientient if you need it right now. If that is the case I'd also say,, 1fast400

Creakid to answer your question though the best time to take Creatine is directly after your workout. If you taking the pill form or a Pure form of Creatine monohydrate (just the plain creatine powder) Your best way to take it is with Dextrose (the transport system). If you don't wish to purchase Dextrose then the 2nd best way to administer it so you get your moneys worth is with Concord Grape Juice. Welches Purple Grape juice for example. Purple Grape juice not only works well as a transport system but it's also high in antioxidents. Now DON'T buy Purple Grape DRINK that is not the same. It must say Grape JUICE and make sure it's PURPLE.

while were on the subject of creatine.... i have a question. how exactly are you supposed to take it? i heard if you take it for a wihle, you lose a lot of strength. are you supposed to take it for a couple weeks then stop? im thinking of starting to take it but i dont want to screw myself over if i decide to stop one day. this has probably been addressed before, plz direct me to a good creatine post if so... thanks for your help.

There is no need to cycle creatine. Also dont mix the creatine in liquid and let it sit. It becomes unstable. Also like firementioned dextrose is a good transport. If you dont want to use it do like fire said and use PURPLE grape juice. Also ALA(alpha lipoic acid) is a good antioxidant and transport post w/o for the creatine.

You can mix them together if you want. Just dont mix the creatine into liquid untill you are going to take it.

you drink the grape juice FOR the sugar. It helps insuline spike you and transport the creatine. If you dont want sugar, drink the creatine with water and take ALA(alpah lipoic acid) as the transport.

If I added sugar to my H20 and creatine, would it help? If so, how much?

Regarding all this Creatine talk. 1st off the loading phase 10grams a day is just that... a load. It isn't neccessary and a waist of money. when Creatine was basically new that is what was suggested but since then the theory of the necessity to load has been downgraded. 5 grams after workout is all that is required. Any more is just being pissed away so to speak. I have Never loaded and have always had awesome results with Pure Creatine Monohydrate. And as for the transportation system,, as said so many times before, the absolute best tranortation system is Dextrose. That can't be argued. The second best, which is the way I have done so over the years is with Welches Concord Grape Juice. the insulin spike is a free perk but grape juice has other positive attributes as well such as: high in antioxidants. News report last week on channel 6 news Philadelphia also reported that concord Grape juice is good for anti aging and some other good health related issues which I can't remember. sorry. so the old saying,, an apple a day keeps the doctor away MAY still be true in a sense but NOW add grape juice to that saying too. My GNC gets 30% off for the gold card week
. So all the vitamins, and the GNC proteins and creatine is not a bad price at all for me. I know you guys say don't cycle creatine, but would you all say 3 weeks on, 1 week off ok to do? I just wanna do it like that to give my liver and kidney's a break. |

I would do something more like 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off, but thats just my opinion. I just started taking creatine monohydrate, and have had great results as far as getting bigger, for the strength, i havent seen a big change in my strength. But im going to continue taking the creatine. I havent decided if i want to cycle it or not, i may or i may not, we'll see when the time comes.

im not saying that you are wrong in stating that you havent seen any increase in strength, but if you havent gotten stronger, than its highly unlikely that you gotten and bigger... unless its all water. Cuz the direct effect that results in larger muscles, is a growth of larger stronger individual muscle fibers.
