    Creatine water weight

    Hey Guys,
Just a simple question that I couldn't find an answer for at the
    specific creatine sites.

Does the water drawn to the muscles during the maintenance
phase dissapear during the cleanout phase?
Or any other time you stop using creatine?

It seems if the extra weight is just water then it would eventualy
    go somewhere else...
    Cheers, Art.

    Yup, pretty much.

What is a "clean out phase"? There is no reason to cycle creatine.

I agree with price about the cycling... Yeah depending on how large you are I'd say you gain about 4-7 pounds of water weight.

once you stop taking creatine the extra water weight will dissipate within 5-7 days. at least for me
stop worrying, plenty of time before summer and its ONLY water, thats the point of creatine!

Hmm.. ok.. that sort of makes it hard to guage how much lean
weight I have gained in the last month or so.
Perhaps staying off it for a while will help me to determine that.
I didn't notice any dramatic improvement in weight gain BTW...
    just in performance.

I never wanted to use the stuff permanently.. just got a 500g
tub to help with getting me started.

Ive heard some people suggest cycling since if you consume ATP from creatine then your muscles will stop making it so when ure off creatine you would have badly limited explosive power.

Has the ever been proven or studied?

I used to take 5-10 grams per day, but I've pretty much cut back to 6 grams every second day myself. I haven't lost any weight or strength, and I'm saving money.

It's not really a cycle, but it seems more efficient.
