    Creatine & Coffee ?

Ok, I get up every morning at 0415 to begin my workout at 0445.
I read that you shouldn't mix creatine with caffeine. When I first get up I take a half dose of creatine, then I jump in my car and head to the corner store for a cup of coffee. Is it ok for me to do this? I seem to have a better workout when I take some creatine prior to my workout. I know that it won't mess up my body but I don't want to lose any beneifts that the creatine will give me.

Plus, me with no coffee that early in the morning is not good!!!!

but some research seems to suggest caffeine interferes with creatine uptake, but the benifit you get from the coffee (energy to work out) is probably more than the benifit creatine can give you. WHat ggod is it if you don't have enough energy to get in a good workout?

I've read the caffiene interference thing is just a rumor. I believe bodybuilding.com just did an article over it. Do a search.

Why not take the creatine post workout. That would be the ideal time.

That is what I was thinking. I think some people take it both pre and post workout. I for one take it post workout, but whatever wets your noodle.

EDIT: I have heard conflicting reports regarding caffeine interfering with the creatine. Just to be on the safe side, I keep the two separate.

I used to do the "after work only creatine." But ever since I started taking some before my workout, my strenght is a lot greater. Thanks!

QuestionGuy - Isn't it a personal opinion? I personally take creatine about an hour before and immediately after a workout. Maybe it's just mental, but I notice a better pump and better overall workout. If he wishes to take creatine pre workout and post workout let him have at it.
