    Zero.

The maximum depends how much of powder you put in every shake. Remember that you need to get more protein from "real" food.

i drink dos. you can drink as many as want but you should get most of your nutrients from food. I drink the shakes for the high quality protein and the convenience.

well..protien shakes are supplements...you use them to supplement your food if you can not get the proper amount of protien in during a meal.... the answer could be no shakes a day if you can eat the protein in real food...

so say Im takeing in 320 grams of protien a day...you can only take in 40-60 g of protien in a sitting before its wasted...I eat 8 meals a day(one about every 2 hours)....so theoretically i could consume 8 40g shakes...or eat 8 measured out meals.. or a combonation of both

btw protien alone will do diddley...you need fat and carbs aswell to put on mass...8 shakes a day with no real food would just waste money...I only use protien if there is absolutely no way to get my protien macro for the meal with real food...real food allways beats protien shakes...

Two a day for me. When trying to pack on calories and especially protein, 3 to 4. No substitute for food agreed, but when shooting for 3,500-4,000 cals daily, a good high protein/low carb drink is a deal maker.

On workout days, usually 4. On non-workout days, usually 2. I generally aim for 40 to 50 grams of protein per shake.

Does it matter how many you take if it came from a protein meal replacement (more calories, with carbs) than 100% whey protein (less calories, no carbs)?

Basically Met-Rx MRP vs. Optimum Nutrition 100% whey

I've read/heard various numbers and all were way higher than 20 grams. The lowest number I've seen is 40 gram. I shoot for 40 - 50 grams a shake.

I go for three, sometimes four myself.

    Why?

Simple. As old a "sad story" as this is, I'm a university student. I'm as far removed from having any sort of stable bank account as possible.

It is thus MUCH more economical and affordable to buy one 50$ (35$ or so American that would be) 5 pound tub of protein than to buy the equivalent in lean meat.

I could easily eat 50$ of meat per week. However, a 5-pound whey tub, at the same price, can last three to four weeks. It's protein, and slowed down with some healthy fats, will work just the same.

I usually have 3 a day. One I mix with my oatmeal in the morining instead of plain non-fat milk. One mid day as a supplement and one as a post workout drink. On occasion I will have 4. Each shake is approx 35gr of protein (including the 10gr from non-fat milk). I am currently using All the Whey vanilla and am very satisfied with the taste and ease of mixing. I was using Diamond Nutrition whey, and it does not mix well.

I do sometimes. I just put a HUGE glob right in. When you put it in the blender, just make sure it drops in the middle and not on the side.
    Should mix just fine...
