    Newbie question

I am want to start an intensive program. I want to lose 30 lbs. The only supplements that I am taking right now is a multi vitamin and fat burners, and thinking about creatine. I am a male currently at 6'1", 230 lbs. Need to get down to about the 200 lb range. I need answers on dieting, supplements, and exercising. I have a limited knowledge on supplements, but want to know which ones I should be taking. Users on this board say to stay away from fat burners. Should I be getting into some of the more "elaborate" supplements that I am hearing on this board for the first time??? My main goal is to lose weight. I have enough muscle (don't want to bulk up, just lose overall body size), but it is covered by fat. I need to maintain my muscle, just lose the fat. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

well if you want to maintain most of your muscle then you are going to have to cut rather slowly. Personally I think a weight goal isnt the right thing for you. It should be a measurement goal. Because if you could lose some inches on your waist and some overall fat without losing 30 lbs you'd still want that right? Creatine isnt going to hurt you and has nothing to do with fat loss. What are you taking for a fat burner?

I am taking a generic version of Xenadrine w/o Ephedra. You are right about just focusing on losing inches. I have been using a scale to determine my fitness goals, which I know is wrong. I should be using how my current clothes fit. The baggier they get, the better I'm doing. Tell me if I'm on the right track.

this is what i did to lose the fat bulky look, and get more defenition w/o losing muscle

ok the xenedrine w/o ephedra is ok, but i would recomend using ephera/caffine/aspirin

all i did (it wasnt very hard) was i lifted hard every monday/wednsday/friday, and on teus/thurs/sat/sun i walked on the tread mill for 25 minutes and used a toning video my mom gave me, and a total tiger thing my moms bf bought me

i tride to eat more calories with healthy foods, and try not to eat very much junk food

and finally, i take mega creatine/whey protein after my workout.
i get pretty toned up quick enough, it works well
