Best multivitamin

What does everyone feel is the appropiate multivitamin? Is the simple Centrum or Theragram the best, or should you gear more to gender specific (men's/wpman's formula, etc.) ones? It just seems that taking a men's formula (for me) is the same as taking 2 centrum's. Doesn't your body get rid of what it won't use, for example, too much of one or more vitamin's/minerals?

for you, most likely no, because you train to compete.

most people on these boards are not, therefore an adequate amount of daily fruits/vegetables will deliver the RDA of vitamins and minerals.

do you realize due to the mass crop growing and land turnover the fruits and veggies in our grocery stores are quite low on vitamin and mineral content?

maybe enough for the average person, but not for any type of athlete, even someone that just trains with weights and does not compete.

if you lift weights you should be taking a multi-vitamin, TwinLab's Daily One is $22.00 for 180 caps. If you take 3 caps per day that is a two month supply, which equates to $11.00 per month.

Is your health and bodybuilding not worth $11.00 per month?

i believe in supplements dude, but you cant argue with the fact that food is just as important in providing vitamins/minerals.

Of course it is, I argue the fact that you cannot get enough vitamins and minerals from food alone.

Bingo.

If we could all get the proper amount of vits and minerals through food, we be eating a helluva lot more than we currently do.

In my opinion the best multi I have encountered (and I have encountered a lot) is Now Vit-Min 75+ and 100+, considering both price and quality of ingredients.

I use The Vitamin Shoppe's "Ultimate Man." Ingredients are identical to GNC's Mega Men, but at half the price.

Personally I just use a simple Cetrium multi....however....I feel...and so does the dietician that teaches my nutrition class in nursing...that a well balanced diet is fine. If you train hard you may want to add additional water soluble vitamins but a multi is more for security I think...just to make sure we're covering all the bases.

Searching for the right balance...
