depends. you need balanced protein in each of your meals. (5-6/day)
post workout along with carbs is ideal. taking it another time in the day along with something else to make it more substantial(its very fast abaorbing if you have just whey).
I wouldnt rely on it as a staple protein source however, whole foods are much better.

OK, but you should try to even out your protein through out the day. Personally, I alternate between real food and shakes.

So, I figure my total calories that I want for the day, divide that in half b/c I want 50% of cals to come from protein, divide that by 4 (4 cals per gram of protein) to come up with the number of grams per day. Then divide that by the number of meals (6) and that is how many grams I shoot for per meal. Shake or food.

    Hope that helps.

It depends on you as an individual, your protein requirements, etc.

    Me:

I have a protein shake along with my oatmeal in the morning.(with 2% 'low carb' Milk)

I have a protein shake post-training. (with water)

I have a protein shake before bed. (with 2% 'low carb' Milk)

    Does that help?

Ya, thanks Prince. So you don't take none with meals? When you say post-training do you mean before working out or after working out?
