has anybody ever heard of this?

I was looking at a forum on another site and a guy had a question about creatine. At least three people suggested not mixing creatine with water. They said just spoon creatine into your mouth and wash it down with water after. Has anybody ever tried this and if so what's the difference?

Thats how I take my creatine that is before I got the nasty tasting Swole V2 unflavored stuff. Unflavored my ass! I only do it because I don't like how after mixing it in a drink some of it settles to the bottom and stays in the cup. That is wasteful

Oh, did I say I went to another site. I mean I heard it from some people . But anyways I thought that they were crazy. I did a search on it on the site and some people are saying it is the best way to do it. I'll post the link if anybody wants to see this particular forum subject. But I would rather not advertise it. It's kind of funny because I was just looking at some of their gallery pics and they look like a bunch of kids. Some of them are claiming that it has a better absorption rate or something. It makes no sense to me. I'll stay loyal to this forum.

Okay, well to punish you for even asking this question... From now on whenever you want to have a protein shake, you must dump the powder in your mouth first, and then wash it down with whatever liquid you use. "Better absorption rate." Hahaha. I'd like to see that.

ha ha. It was just a question. I thought it was funny because I had never heard of it before. They gave no reason for it whatsoever. I found nothing on it here and tons on it there because they truly believe in it. I used to take creatine but stopped for awhile but I mixed it with water!

Well TrojanMan isn't joking. I've seen him throw creatine and glutamine in his mouth and then use water to wash it down. I've tried it once with glutamine, but I ended up choking on it - so I'll just mix it with my protein shakes. I, personally, don't use creatine, and never have. I might give it a shot some day.

Yeah she choked on it then blew the powder out on the floor in my kitchen. It was pretty funny. She hasn't tried it again since. The key is not to throw the powder back in your throat and just pour it on your tongue then wash it down with something to drink. It doesn't have to be water, but its easy and always availible

I pour the powder in my mouth and then swig it down with water because that shit doesn't mix well anyway. I imagine the peeps at the other board may have mentioned that creatine degrades in water which is true, but it would take at least an hour to do so.

unless you plan on sipping on a shake for 45 minutes or so, i wouldn't bother with scooping it in your mouth.

I actually looked into this one. (see, I AM learning)...

Regardless whether you scoop micronized Creatine directly into your mouth or mix it with water (or juice or guinness or whatever) the absorbtion is still the same. Aparently the same applies to liquid creatine as well. Proponants of the liquid stuff will claim a faster absorbtion rate but according to what I have read, this simply is not true.

An Mudge hit it on the head... If you DO elect to mix your creatine with liquid, do NOT let it sit for for more than a couple minutes. In water, Creatine quickly transforms into creatinine which is worthless to you and excreted with the rest of your waste.

    Cheers,

Liquid creatine? LOL Creatine IS unstable in luquid, nuff said. Also drinking it with something like concord grape juice is better than water. The suger will help transport the creatine.

Oh, I know it exhists. However it does not work. If creatine is unstable in liquid(such as water), then why would it be any different in liquid form?

Look under: "Here are some important facts about creatine syrum you should know" And look at the 4th bullet.

Also read a bit under that where they talk about lab tests. The shit is worthless
