Hey fellas ... I am new to the forum ... Just wondering how do you guys normally take your protein powder? Do you mix it with milk, juice or water? Is taking whey protein mix with water beneficial? Please help me out guys ...
You can mix it with anything. Mixed in water, it will digest the fastest. Milk usually makes it taste better, and ups the protein/nutrient content. Juice also works great for certain flavors...vanilla and ornage juice and you have a good smoothy. I probably drink at least half my shakes w/ water, because it's readily available at work, the gym, etc..
Mixing your shake with water is good if you're looking to keep your calories down. I mix my shakes with fat free milk to add more protein and to improve the taste. Before and after a workout I take whey protein, but at bedtime I have a protein blend (micellar casein + whey) for a sustained release.
