Creatine + Caffeine

Hi Guys,
It seems to be widespread knowledge on the net that Creatine &
Caffeine counter the effect of each other.
One article suggests that it is ok for a pre-workout cup of coffee
even while the muscles are loaded with creatine.
I like a pre-workout caffeine boost, but I have never had much
success with creatine (this is my second 500g tub).
Do I really need to choose one or the other?
I think I would stick with caffeine.

I won the tub of creatine at the gym

Creatine cans still be effective in helping bost your ATP availability with caffeine in your system. But, since caffeine is a diuretic, your muscles hold less water and this negates one of the major benifits of taking creatine. I am in the same boat. If you have the energy to do your work out just as well without the caffeine, do that. If you can't get motivated without the caffeine, you can still get benefits from the creatine--it just won't be optimal. I am about to start a creatine cycle and I plan to drop all caffeine for this cycle--big sacrafice for me. I guess we willl see. Determination!

I used creatine and caffeine for a while and after I was done taking it I could feel that my workout wasn't as intense. I tired a lot easier. Maybe it was all in the mind like a placebo effect or something. O well, just something to think about.

I have my fair share of caffine, and it hasn't seem to have had a negative effect on my workouts since I've been on creatine. Maybe this means that it isn't having an effect, or maybe it means that I'm not really responding to the creatine.

I hear mixed reviews on whether or not caffeine affects creatine, so to be on the safe side I wait an hour bewteen my p.w.o. shake and my morning java.

Personally, I would ditch the creatine before I give up my coffee. Speaking of which, I think I'll go grab another cup right now.
