Take it after you are done working out, preferably with concord grape juice. Use 5grams or a heaping tsp. DONT mix it in the juice untill you are ready to drink it.

I would take it every day. I say take it after, because I think uptake is better.

...I wish creatine made your boobs grow cuz I would be feeding it to my woman like mad.

Post workout is the best time to take your creatine. I like to add mine to my recovery drink. I add 10g creatine, 50g of whey protein isolate and 50g of a high glycemic carb in a 20 oz shaker cup with some water. Shake vigorously and drink it down.

Creatine will do absolutely nothing is you do not remain hydrated. Drink lots of water!!

P.S...If I have the glutimine I will add 5g to my post workout recovery drink.

Creatine alone will not grow muscles...

There is no magic potion or pill that will give you easy muscle. It requires smart hard consistent training. Never fall in to the supplement hype. "Arnold in a bottle" doesn't exist.

A healthy diet rich in lean means and nutrient dense fruit and vegetables should be supplement number 1!!

There are very few bodybuilding supplements that are worth your money. If you are going to spend hard earned cash on bodybuilding supplements, a high potency multi-mineral multi-vitimin is a MUST. Whey protein powder is the easiest and cheapest way to maximize protein intake (1-2g of protein per lb of body weight is a good rule to follow). Creatine is an awesome product but make sure you got the basics covered first.

creatine wont add bitch tits whoever says that is wrong, just like earlier i read that a kid thinks swole v2 caused his artheritis, only a few side effects have been recorded- water retention and bloating, i havent had any. there is a small chance you will get them.

The basics are a well balanced diet, Avoid fatty processed food. Supplement with creatine and whey protein powder...can't get any more basic than that.

You have a lot of questions and I can remember when I was always hungery for bodybuilding knowledge. Stay away from the bodybuilding magizines that sport unhealthy unrealistic athletes. IMO all bodybuilding magizines are catalogs for the supplement of the month.

Arnold Schwarzeneggers "Modern Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding" is the best book ever written on the subject of bodybuilding. It will answer every question you have from routines to tanning.

Creatine loading is when you try and saturate your muscles with creatine in a short period of time. The loading phase lasts anywhere from 5-7 days. My method for loading is as fallows I add 10g creatine, 50g of whey protein isolate and 50g of a high glycemic carb in a 20 oz shaker cup with some water. Shake vigorously and drink it down. I drink 3 of these a day for 5-7 days. This is fallowed by a daily maintenance dose of 5-10g.

I am not a doctor so I don't even know if creatine or a high protein diet would be well for you write now. Are you being treated for a serious medical condition?? Please consult your doctor before you begin any of this!!

    hey micflint,

In regards to taking in protein; start by taking in a gram to a gram and a half x your bodyweight. Take in various types of protein (meat, chicken, fish, eggs, milk, whey) and defintely include some protein in pre and postworkout. Refeed after your workout with dextrose or some sort of high glycemic carbs, but not fruit sugar.
Also, dont be afraid of fat. Take some cottage cheese before bed (a 1/2 cup to a whole cup).

    Micflint

I think all the info you need to know about diet, nutrition and supplementation is in this thread. I too was 16 yrs old and 150 lbs when I started bodybuilding. I was sooo skinny!!!

If you got the desire to get big and you eat a lot, train with correct form and intensity, gains come almost overnight at your age. (BTW DON'T bother with any of the over the counter "steriods"...you have tonnes of testosterone at your age anyhow)

Just load up on the creatine like I mentioned in a previous post. As far as the protein goes strive for 1-2g per lb. You should consume 150-300g daily. Try and eat a wide variety of protein, lean beef, chicken, pork...ect. This can become expensive and I almost put my parents in the "poor house"...lol. Thankfully Whey protein powder is relatively cheap, but it does not contain all the whole food goodness.

    Good luck micflint

Chow down my friend...Protein powder is a "supplement" and should be used as one. Nothing replaces beef/chicken/pork/eggs/peanut butter.

It is funny you mentioned peanut butter cuz that was my weight gainer of choice at your age. I would use protein powder as a fast breakfast, a snack replacement and post workout.

pasta, oatmeal, bread, rice (brown), grains, basically. These all help in helping you get big. They arent supplements, but are those foods should be a staple of your daily diet. Also, dont eat the typical 3 square meals. Break it down to five or six smaller meals a day and always include a portion of fat, protein and carbs in each serving. Except your pre and post workout-no fat needed in either. And the post should be a simple carb like dextrose, honey, sweetened cereal (Trix baby!!!), gatorade.
