    custom formula

    iv found a site that lets you create your own custom supplement was thinking of ordering the following formula

    Calcium Caseinate0.8kg (40%)Whey Protein Concentrate 800.8kg (40%)Flax Seed Powder0.2kg (10%)Creatine0.1kg (5%)L Glutamine0.1kg (5%)

    I intend to take 100grams a day in two shakes this will give me;

    Calcium Caseinate 40grams, Whey Protein Concentrate 80 40grams, Flax Seed Powder 10grams, Creatine 5grams, L Glutamine 5grams

    per day.

    Is there any advantage in incorporating two types of protien i.e. Calcium Caseinate and Whey or will it make no difference at all. I dont wanna wack a load of carbs in but would it be beneficial to have some Dextrose in there to go with the Creatine? Any feedback about formula and doses would be welcome!

    Don't put L-glutamine in a protein shake. Your body won't absorb it with heavier amino acids present. Use glutamine peptides instead. You definitely should have some carbs in the meal. Dextrose is ideal for creating a significant insulin response and can help your body use the creatine. There are some benefits to mixing different proteins. Casienate digests very slow, Whey very fast. I wouldn't use this blend for post-workout. Otherwise, it looks fine to me. If you do want to add dextrose, it would be cheaper to buy it separately.

    You've picked some good supplements but personally I would buy them seperately to give you more flexibility and precision. For example, I'd have whey first thing in the morning and PWO for a quick protein influsion, whey and casein blended during the day for a sustained release protein mix and creatine pre and post workout. Like Pirate said above I wouldn't recommend mixing protein with amino acids.
