    weight gainer or whey protein?

I am very underweight for my height.

    5'10" 132lbs

I'm looking to gain some weight, fast. Which of these supplements would do the job (as quickly as possible)? I will be exercising (however I need to, since I'll have access to a nice gym when I move into my dorm)

Also, I know I need to eat better, but since it is going to be a small dorm...it isn't possible to do so all the time. Any suggestions here?

    Mucho thanks.

Well I want to get muscle, but I'd rather gain a little weight first...at least until I'm not underweight anymore.

At 5 10 and 132lb u sound like an very hard gainer!

firstly weight gainer and whey protien should be used as supplements to your diet. the first thing you should look at when trying to gain mass is your diet itself. try an write down the number of calories you take in per day at present. once you have established this number you should then gradually try to increase the number of cals in ur diet each day. If your aim is to build musle you should be aiming to eat at least 1g of protien per pound of bodyweight i.e in ur case 132g/day - i would probably aim for something a little bit higher try and increase the amount gradually. Try to work a daily meal plan that will help you achieve this amount of protien and calories. once u hav got a set diet then try looking at supplementation for more info:

If you are 5-10" 132lbs, and want to gain as much weight as you possibly can, you should concetrate on getting 2,500- 3,000 calories a day. But dont just eat anything, you need 1.5-2.0 grams of protein in your body per pound of bodyweigt on you everyday, so try to get anywhere from 198grams to 264grams of protein in you every day. You also need to get 2.0 grams to 2.5 grams of carbs in you per pound of bodyweight everyday, also 1-3 ounces of water in you per pound of bodyweight. Dont do this in three meals, because it will be to much for your metabolism burn, and you will gain too much body fat. Eat 6-8 small to medium size meals everyday. Also for any meal you dont have time to eat, try a meal replacement drink. Also try to get at least 4 protein shakes in you everyday. L-glutimine or glutimine peptides will help add volume to your muscle, and also helps cut you up in the mid section. Creatine is great for gaining weight, however keep in mind it works by retaining water over your muscle, so the majority of gains maid during creatine cycles are water retention, but is weight, and it still looks good. If your doing all this it wont kill you to do 20-30 minutes of cardio everyday, you will only loose muscle threw cardio if your running longer than this a day. Make sure that you have an intense training program, because your eating a whole lot.

You must have a proper diet first.
