how long before i can notice a difference

I am about to start doing the following

20g Creatine Monohydrate a day (10g in the morning, 10g after workout)...by anyone got tips on how to make this crap taste better :P

1500mg L-Glutamine (2-3 pills a day, 2 pills being 1500mg) (split between before workout and after)

Twinlab Amino Fuel (1000) Bodybuilding Amino Acids (2-4 pills, after meals)

I now go to college, so I have access to a nice facility to work out in. I have a friend that can show me what to do, or so he says. (i'll probably go 3-4 times a week)

My question is, how long until I will notice a weight/mucle difference while doing this?

Your exercise routine, diet, and sleep schedule are way more important than any of those supplements. It is these things that will determine your progress. Get them all down good, and the gains will be noticeable after the first month. Since you see your self everyday, it is a good idea to take pictures and measurements to track your progress. If you are going to booze regularly, forget quick gains.

What are some foods I can eat to get a few extra calories in? Beef isn't much of an option, since I can't go out and eat stake very often :P

Tell us about your training regimen. How many days per week do you train? How often do you train each muscle group? How many sets do you perform per body part? How high is your training intensity?

Creatine is definitely a great supplement, however, to make effective gains you still need to train hard to make use of the extra CP/ATP availability.

Research on the effectiveness of l-glutamine is mixed. Some say it helps recuperation and reduce muscle catabolism while others get nothing from it.

Also, taking amino acids with a meal will probably reduce the absorption; take them on an empty stomach.

I haven't started yet. I'll be starting tommorow and I'm not sure what I'm going to do...as I'm clueless but my friend claims to know things.

I was playing on doing high-weight low-reps (on everything) 3-4 times a week

Look around in the Training forum for ideas. These supplements won't do much without hard training, a good diet and plenty of rest.

Good luck!

I see no point in using that much creatine.

Don't start taking these supplements unless you have a clue with what your doing. It's not only a waste of money, but it's just baseless and stupid in my opinion which Im sure many agree with.

That isn't enough glutamine. I take in around 5g with breakfast and over 5g in my post workout shake, not to mention that my whey protein has glutamine in it already.

and you should take your amino acid tabs immediately after your workout with your shake and right before you go to bed. And all the suppliments in the world won't do any good if you aren't training hard and eating hard.

You have to take L-glutamine on an empty stomach 30 minutes before eating for proper absorption. You could take your amino acids at the same time.

I agree with almost everyone, except for one thing. I don't suggest creatine or glutamine right now. You have no diet or exercise program established. Hence, supps are wasting money. Supplements are meant to "supplement" your already established program. You have none, so dont use the supps yet. They are made to enhance your workouts, provide vits/mins/macros that you are burning off due to intense workouts etc. So, no offense, but I think you are wasting money. Take it from someone who has done every supp known to man. When I haven't used them in conjunction with a very well thought out diet and exercise plan, I have wasted my money. I'm sure I will get flamed by some for saying this, especially those who sell supps, but that is MY OPINION.

THAT WHICH DOES NOT KILL ME, CERTAINLY MUST MAKE ME STRONGER

Logical advice, but it looks as though he's already purchased the supplements.
