Tiratricol (also known as Triax, Tricana, Triac, Thyrocuts, Tri-Cutz or Tri-Cuts) was a Metabolic Accelerator - a potent naturally occurring degradation product of your own T3 thyroid hormone which increases respiration in adipose tissue and decreases respiration in lean body mass. It resulted in a potent catabolic action on fat cells and anti-catabolic, preservative action on lean body mass such as muscle cells. Allowed you to lose body fat without sacrificing muscle tissue. Never tried it but heard that and Adipokinetix worked very well. May have been the reason why both were discontinued? I would buy it if I could get a decent price on it. As long as they are still sealed, they should be good.

Triax II was their forskolin product, which was later renamed as XXX. XXX was eventually discontinued when they released MM4 (forskolin, among other things).

Any remaining bottles of Triax II and XXX are beyond expiration date, which isn't to say that they'll be worthless or harmful; it is to say that the price better be rock bottom.

Forskolin does little on its own speaking of positive body composition effects, at least from my own experience and that of others. Looks good on paper, and in theory, and that's all - there are no studies, and Sabinsa's doesn't count. As an adjunct to a stimulant-based thermogenic, it may help.

It is a wonderful anxiolytic, though; I've used it as a support to an anti-depressant regimen. Forskolin does have serious potential in a host of mental disorders (there's even a paper on schizophrenia), but most forskolin studies utilize a synthetic injectible, not an oral herbal extract; the oral availability is in question, and forskolin has diverse effects, so it's patently absurd to say that it's going to do this and that in X or Y amount. No one fucking knows with the orals.

If you're looking into it, don't buy the bulk product from BAC - it's utter garbage. Don't look into the currently available bulk materials at all, as quality and quantity is presently a concern (so you should be suspicious if a company is floating a healthy amount of it around at low prices) The Vitamin Shoppe has a great deal on their house-brand Forslean product; quality stuff and you can order it online.

I'm not as.....psychologically volatile......when I use forskolin at around 100 mgs per day.

    Worst case scenario:

Probably, but you likely wouldn't notice it if it's within a year or two after expiration. Even then, ephedrine products and such have been known to last for years; also depends on storage conditions. A product is supposed to retain a certain percent of its potency up to the time it can be sold when its expiration date is reached; after that, it's a gradual but not necessarily sharp decline. So when you're looking at an expired product, it doesn't mean the product isn't good; the company can no longer guarantee the potency of actives after that date, and therefore cannot sell it.

Depends on the compounds though, and the company's quality standards.

The original Triax or Adipo? The FDA forced them to pull Triax as it was an "unapproved new drug," not a dietary supplement - Adipo was discontinued after the FDA issued a warning with the subsequent removal of all norephedrine (phenylpropanolamine/PPA) products from the market (the original Dexatrim, cough syrups with PPA, etc).

Tiractricol is currently available under the name of Trimax, I think.
