Im a junior in hs and im wondering if creatine is safe for teens and how should i take it to get the most effective results. Some of my friends and i are wondering if its worth taking or not as a teen. Ive read a ton on it but cant find anything good about teens taking it. Thanks for the help.

It is in my estimation that orally taken creatine is a complete waste of money....but some people swear they get results....i think is just watery puffyness that makes me want to wretch at the sight of veinless arms and puffy nipples die.

Creatine is probably the most scientifically backed up "supplement" on the market.

Although there are a few "non responders", I would say 9/10 users get very good results.

    one's body makes creatine

better off taking a "creatine loader" supplement to make your body produce is in combo with high BUN ratios its like steroids......

or you could just keep wasting money on creatine

    Ditto to Camaro.

It is not harmful at all for you.
More people respond when it is mixed with a high glycemic sugar though.
A lot of the creatine comes this way. If not, mix it in with some yourself.

You get a very small amount of creatine from meats, and I do believe you body produces it as well, however, its not enough to see the kind of results you would see taking 5-10 grams daily.

Simple sugars do help deliver it to the muscles.

    creatine is an awesome product

1 of the only products that i've tried to give me instant, noticable and satisfying results

i believe it works much better with dextrose, last time i took it with apple juice and didn't really feel it as well as the 1st time, could be a time thing bt i'm going back to creatine + dextrose next time

and regarding its useage for teens there is no problem, i used creatine as a teen and it worked for me

If your diet is sound, Id spend it on creatine. If your diet isnt on the money, spend it on protein. Or buy both.

I swear by creatine, I take it pre-workout every night.

Well medical study done in performance labs on athletes have proven the exact opposite of "your" estimation of orally taken creatine.

creatine is one of the few proven effective supplements on the market....30% of the population is said to be creatine non-responders so for some supplemental creatine does not aid in training, but that surely does not mean it is a waste of money. creatine is probably the cheapest supplement out there...

Thats like mortal sin in here. GNC = overpriced. Muscletech = overpriced. Stay away from those. Here is what I take and it is great, especially if youre just starting out. http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/hp/creatine.html

Yea its a great deal, IMO. Its not completely tasteless, but you can mask it with anything. I take it with grape juice pre-wo everynight. I sometimes take it with just water, or water/crea/glut.... that tastes nasty, but its palatable.

For 20 bucks, you cant go wrong.

FYI - always buy powder. You wanna get in at least 5g pre-wo, so you wouldnt wanna be poppin a ton of pills. Just my opinion.

Do I have to load with this stuff? If not do I take 5gs before workout with grape juice and then 5 more after with protein and carb shake?

I dont load. I dont see a point. Some people say you do, some say you dont. Some reports say you should, some say you shouldnt. Author Rea said I should load with 47g per day for a week, maintain with 7g the next week, then take two weeks off. Somethin like that. And that man knows his shit.

Again, personally, I do not load. Yes, take 5 - 10g pre-wo with grape juice or other sugar, and another 5-10 post wo with protein shake. Should be good.

loading is important unless you want to wait 30 days until you start getting the full benefits of a creatine cycle

if you put your creatine in your protein shake you have to drink the whole thing down ASAP, you can't sip on it. creatine converts to creatinine very rapidly once in solution. and you can use glutamine peptides with shakes but L-Glutamine should be consumed on an empty stomach not combined with proteins...

Oh, I got a question Alright, I lift weights then drink 20g protein, what 10 min and then do 30-45 min of cardio and drink my reg 40g protein and carbs after the cardio. When should I be taking my creatine there? Before or after the cardio (and bear in mind I take 75g of dextrose and maltodextrose with the creatine.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

I wouldn't do 30-45 minutes of cardio after weight training if gaining LBM is the top priority...
