Best/Worst Whey Protein?

Hello,
I am wondering if the whey protein I have been taking is not good for me or is worthless. I buy it at a store called Nutrition City. The Brand is by Sci Fit and is called Econo Whey Protein. It's Aspartame Free. I buy the chocolate ice cream flavor. Per scoop it has 114 calories, 22g Protein, 1.5g Fat, 55mg Sodium, 3g Carbs, and 1.5g Sugars. Plus it has a whole list of Amino Acids per serving. I usually put one scoop in my oatmeal in the morning, and then drink 1 scoop at night.
I just want to make sure this is good enough for a fat loss diet. I'm really not wanting to bulk up in muscle, just get fit and i know we need our protein everyday. Yes, I do eat plenety of chicken breasts, eggs and tuna, but I take this to get my daily sevings met.
I am also wondering if whey protein may cause water retention or puffiness? It seems that my face has been retaining water or has a more puffy appearance since i've started this diet and I know I have been taking this whey protein everyday consistantly. I do drink about a gallon and a half of water everyday so I know it's not a lack of water causing the problem.
Anyway, please let me know if my whey protein is sufficiant as a protein supplement for fat loss. Thank you :-)
