I have a protein shake about two hours before my work-out, I do no like the feeling of anything in my gut when I train, you should definitely have a protein shake (preferably whey) post work-out, and a simple carb to replenish gycogen stores.

what is the best thing to take prior to my workout? Banana, Protein shake or both together. also, is it recommended to take protein shake immediately after my workout?

I use whey & oats for pre-WO and whey & oats & maltodextrin right now for post-WO
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.
