I was hoping they would have it in bulk, but that is a good price, IMO.

Is that better than whey or better than most of the stuff out there? Just wondering because I need to order some protien and Im not really sure what to get. I heard good things about optimum nutritions 100% whey and it was cheap so I thought that would be my best bet. If theres something better though thats cheap Id love to hear it. Thanks

Right, milk protein isolate contains whey and casein so it will absorb slower and is better used at different times than whey, like before bed.

Would it be a good idea to use Whey Isolate and this new Milk Isolate. One Post workout another before bed ... or is it too much protein? And by the way, is Isolte indeed better then standard protein powders? And why?... Or does it depend on goals an/or circumstances?

So you have 4 shakes a day? Do you at times feel that this much of synthetic shakes, interfere with your apetite for natural foods? Or never happened? Is 4 shakes/day not too much?
And also Whey = fast infusion of protein. How fast? Are the amino acids delivered within say 10 to 20 minutes or more like an hour to 2? What does Isolate stand for? Thank you for all the help ![]() |

Regarding whey I'm not sure of the precise timing but I assume it's 20-30 minutes for digestion. Somebody like LAM will probably be able to tell you more. See here for some additiona info on different types of whey:- http://www.bodybuildingforyou.com/pr...upplements.htm http://www.bodybuildingforyou.com/pr...oncentrate.htm |

the isolate means that the protein has been isolated. all of the lactose, ash, impurities, etc. have been removed making a higher ratio of protein per serving. for example 28 grams of a whey protein concentrate may yield 22 grams of protein whille 28 grams of whey protein isolate may yield 24 grams of protein. you pay more for a WPI over a WPC for that reason. regarding your question about the number of shakes per day. do not look at protein supplements as being synthetic because they are not. all protein powders are manufactured from dairy products, they are not made in a lab. I say use enough protein supplements as it takes to get in the amount of protein that you need. if you have a big appetite you might not need to use as much. others like me don't have a big appetite so I get 50% of my daily protein intake from protein supplements.. |

The BCAAs in the whey are still in polypeptide chains, and must be broken down to single amino acids. They certainly do this faster than other protein sources, but if you have other foods in your stomach, this will delay the amino acids from reaching the small intestines to be be aborbed that fast. If you had a completely empty stomach and took BCAAs that are already broken down, they would soon pass right into the small intestine for absorbtion. But Whey must be denatured and broken down by enzymes before the amino acids are ready to be absorbed. This process isn't as fast as some presume.
