Wow, that's an expensive habit you have there. Taking a number of individual amino acids and protein at the same time will lead to competition for absorpion. A scoop of whey contains all the aminos you need to keep your nitrogen balance positive during a workout. Pre workout all I take is 5g BCAAs, 3g taurine, 3g of Creatine Ethyl Ester and a small amount of fruit.

Postworkout a scoop or two of whey and some simple carbs or oatmeal should help kickstart the anabolic process cost effectively. JMO.

Good way to welcome the guy, Juggernaut. You jumped on Red because he suggested to someone that they should run a search before posting a question, and you accused him of being a mod wannabe. Looks like you either want to be a prick or have one stuck up your ass.

Well, to set the record straight, I have nothing up my ass (I just checked) and I am bit of a prick.
But to answer the question-I really dont have anything against the guy who posted, I have a lot against the mags who sell this shit. I apologize and I am very sorry for my nastiness.
Anyway, malto or dextro are two very good and very cheap supps that get the job done.

You can actually take malto both pre and post. The chemical structure makes it ideal for both. READ:

Quality shouldn't vary. Making pure glucose monomers (dextrose) or short glucose dextrins (maltodextrin) is extremely easy. I suggest dextrose over malto, personally. It is faster acting and taste awesome. They are both cheap, but $2 of dextrose will last at least a week. http://www.bulknutrition.com/?products_id=510

Not for anything-but I eat eight times a day. My students always ask what meal # I'm on. One of my students came to school on Friday in an inflatable bodybuilder suit and skull cap (I'm bald) and won first prize for being his teacher.

I teach high school English and History to "hard core bad kids". These kids have been thrown out of their respective schools-and cant handle life very well so they come to us. We are a private academy, that makes everyone of these guys sign a contract that they are held accountable for. If they cant make it here-their screwed. I used to be one of the baddies myself, I got thrown out of school when I was in fourth grade for fighting. I am now a role model-not that I wanted to be one-it just happened.

Yet another question ... is Maltodextrin considered a high GI carbohidrate?

However Malto is more slowly absorbed and it could be taken pre-workout, to sustain glucose levels during the W/O ... right? Or am I wrong to think like that. Please educate.
